Southern Star Productions In 2009, Takaya filmed the Southern Star Entertainment co-production A gURLs wURLd. He played the role of Josh Lee, the Soccer playing DJ and computer extraordinaire brother of Jackie (Charlotte Nicdao) and love interest of Emma (Sophie Karbjinski). It was the first professional audition Takaya went for and he was amazed when he was awarded the role. The role had the added bonus of filming in both Sydney, Australia and Singapore, Singapore. The show has aired across the globe with several repeats and continues to be. In 2011, A gURLs wURLd was nominated for Best Children’s Television series at the inaugural AACTA (Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards) Awards. |
